Goliath Tigerfish Fishing In The Congo: FAQ

A: Fishing for goliath tigerfish on the Congo River is possible the whole year. The best time is from June to September during the dry season as the level of the Congo river gets lower, making it easier to catch them. If you want to come outside of this period, you can of course also catch them.

A: Yes, you can. The rainy season doesn’t mean that it’s raining the whole time. We sometimes have long periods without rain as well. Rain is often during the night and if it’s during the day it’s mostly intense for a few hours, it rarely rains for more than one day non-stop.

A: Our fishing expert knows the Congo river very well and knows all the best spots and times to find them. Usually two – three days suffice to catch a few, and often we hit jackpot on the first day. If you want to catch several species then we recommend 4 to 7 days so you can hunt for a big one.

A: You take the flight to Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo. We will pick you up at the airport and get to the lodge by boat on the Congo River or by 4×4.

A: We are located up north from Kinshasa, about 2 hours by speedboat on the Congo River.

A: Kinshasa and its bordering provinces have been calm for a long time now. Our lodge is located in a calm region without increased crime or conflicts. We will assure safe transfers between the airport and our camp.

A: In order to provide the best possible fishing experience, we only sell fishing packages up to three persons at a time for now.
